Thursday's blues

So I'm bracing myself for rejection at work. I know it's coming, still it doesn't make it eaiser to take 'gracefully'.

Then to add to it, today the boys have a dental cleaning and everytime we take them, the doctor's staff have us look over their chart information, to ensure it's current.

Crap - I'm getting tearyed eyed.

Anyways, we always listed Judy as an emergency contact because she knew how to get hold of us at any time and anywhere. And Elz texted me saying he removed her name from the contact list.

Another reminder of how much we depended on Judy. I miss her so damn much.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

The Southern Cross:

+ + + + +

Teh Sparklie Girl is the Bestest of the Best!

She had me remembering I've actaully seen CS&N (no Young during this tour) when I was in Highschool - ghod! About 25 years ago, when I was just a wee Raven! - I was in France with a Homestay family, they lived in Leon. They took me to see them in concert. I even remember CS&N singing this song. The concert hall was three stories tall, it was hot, crowded and we'd started out on the third floor but it was just too hot so we moved down to the ground floor. It was wonderful.

Thank you Rachelle for helping me remember. ^_^

The Southern Cross,

also known as Crux as according to Wikipedia

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: The Southern Cross

Got out of town on a boat
Goin' to Southern islands.
Sailing a reach
Before a followin' sea.
She was makin' for the trades
On the outside,
And the downhill run
To Papeete.
Off the wind on this heading
Lie the Marquesas.
We got eighty feet of the waterline.
Nicely making way.
In a noisy bar in Avalon
I tried to call you.
But on a midnight watch I realized
Why twice you ran away.

::Chorus::

Think about how many times
I have fallen
Spirits are using me
larger voices callin'.
What heaven brought you and me
Cannot be forgotten.
I have been around the world,
Lookin' for that woman/girl,
Who knows love can endure.
And you know it will.
And you know it will.
When you see the Southern Cross
For the first time
You understand now
Why you came this way
'Cause the truth you might be runnin' from
Is so small.
But it's as big as the promise
The promise of a comin' day.
So I'm sailing for tomorrow
My dreams are a dyin'.
And my love is an anchor tied to you
Tied with a silver chain.
I have my ship
And all her flags are a flyin'
She is all that I have left
And music is her name.

::Chorus::

Think about how many times
I have fallen
Spirits are using me
larger voices callin'.
What heaven brought you and me
Cannot be forgotten.
I have been around the world,
Lookin' for that woma/girl,
Who knows love can endure.
And you know it will.
And you know it will.

So we cheated and we lied
And we tested
And we never failed to fail
It was the easiest thing to do.
You will survive being bested.
Somebody fine
Will come along
Make me forget about loving you.
At the Southern Cross.

Friday!

And Raven is quite bored, so I give you Christian with his spread legs and "Come Hither Raven" smirk.

Then there's his whole "Can't touch this" pose...

Or as I like to think of it as "This Space RESERVED for Raven".

Excuse me while I take a moment.

What else, I loaded more CDs on my Zune lastnight:

Bond: Shine
One song sold me on this CD when I heard it playing in the music store. You should check them out if you get the chance.

Poe: Haunted
Hey Pretty!

Queen: It's a Kind of Magic
Which had me thinking I wish had Queen's "Flat Bottom Girls" song.

Toto: Super Hits
Which had me asking teh Sparklie Girl to find me "Southern Cross" by Crosby, Stills & Nash (don't know if Young was still around)

Enigma: MCMXC A.D.
This CD rocks! Come one, Gregorian chanting?!! What's not to love? Although it totally blows their second CD wasn't as good and they were banned from creating any more music that included aforementioned chanting.

City of Angels OST
Cuz everyone needs to hear Alanis Morsiett (sp?) belt out "Uninvited".

Philadelphia OST
Don't know what reminded Raven of this CD but guh! Antonio Banderas Lurve!

Hoobastank
I mean serioulsy who doesn't like saying "Hoobastank"? Come on, say it with Raven, Hoo-Ba-Stank!

Coldplay: A Rush of Blood to the Head
Reminds me of that TV show..... gah! what was the name!!!! I'll get back to you on this.

Taylor Swift
I completely blame Elz for this, "Teardrops on my Guitar", mushy I know but also sorta catchy.

Bitter:Sweet
The Mating Game

Ever since I watched Calie (Sarah Ramirez) dance to it on Gray's Anatomy, I was smitten with it.

I adore her so much, that smile, her hair, that figure! GUH!

and last but least, Merman's influance on Raven,

T-Pain: Low
I don't know how the boys hear this music but again, its catchy.

I'll fill these 80g yet!

On a complete random note, DO NOT GO TO LUNCH STARVING! I met Elz for lunch yesterday and we ate at this place called Bambo. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm! Chianese place and I ordered the Orange Chicken. OMG it was delicious! and OMG! So much food! Raven was too full.

.........

OH!

John Doe was the name of the TV show. GUH! Dominic Purcell playing Mister Innocentknowitall with the scar and those lips, that brooding look!

Prisonbreak can kiss my asssssssss!

Ya, t'was a pity the show was canceled. :\

HNT: Color

Half Nekkid Thrusday.

Because if you know me at all, you know the problems I've had with my back and so I've finally decided to say Screw it! And bought myself some heels! First time in about seven years I've owned heels.

Doesn't mean I can wear them every day, for even after two days of wearing them I had to take a break but I'm slowly working my way back and besides heels mean I can shows off my Tatt again even if this picture does not do it any justice, it has it looking like a big blob of dark blue. Ah well, its the shoes I'm showing off and besides I don't think I'm doing so bad for a forty-one year old hum? =P

Happy HNT!

Six foot two

It's a mental image if you don't mind.

Raven's head is still wrapping around the idea of Christian Straddling AND Riding this thing. Now I'm off to dream about this concept.

Step away and back off Al Roker!

EDIT: I don't know why it's showing that dark pic from the movie but this video is really of the Today Show. Go figure. :\

One last posting before bed

I didn't mention the boys and I saw The Spiderwick Chronicles on this past holiday Monday.

Now if you know Raven, then you KNOW Raven usually does not go for kid's movies but this movie was so damn funny! I really enjoyed it, surprisingly, I did. *nods*

Besides it had one of my all time favorite actors: David Strathairn

Oh good lord he's a handsome man, at least Raven thinks so.

*Blinks*

I'm a sucker for a man in glasses.

He's an Aquarian just like Merman!

...

Yes, the movie, it was witty, the CGI was absolutely stunning and it didn't have me falling asleep in my chair like most kids flicks do. The characters likeable and the magic references were just about right on que! So Yes, I would highly recommend it.

.
.
.

Did I mention I like the whole salt and pepper hair style?

Good night all. ^_^

Feel'n a bit more chipper

Great Googlymoogly, what is it about a man's shoulders. Okay a man's bare shoulders. Okay, Okay! Christian's bare shoulders. I think my brain has derailed.

Thank YOU Falco! and you too Pam.

Bleh

A little bit of a smoking CB helps the gloom.

I think my problem is I need a break. I need some attention. I know the pain is probably never going to go away, I'm slowly adjusting to living with it just bare with me until I get into a groove.

It's been a year since I was on vacation and I haven't a clue when I'll get to again. Even my suggested trip to Vegas for my birthday does not look probable simply because I cannot justify spending almost two thousand bucks for three days and seriously, three days? Two days traveling and one day of "fun"? Sounds more stressfull than relaxing.

I also HATE waiting all the time. Seems its all I do, wait, wait, wait. Even my patience has a limit. I need *Some* indication I've not been forgotten or being taken advantage of because if that's the case, I really Loath being lied to. IT IS Raven's Biggest pet peeve and I don't forgive and I don't forget.

Meh.

This weekend I was actually invited to the Pysanky demostration I used to do but don't any more because my hands simply can't hold still for so long, not to mention the arthritis I'm getting in my finger joints make it painful to simply write let alone draw anything decent.

It sucks getting older. Anyhoo, I was touched I was invited. It really means something to me since I was first to do this lady's demo good lord about fifteen years ago. Since then it's gone from just me to about eight artists, some of which started Pysanky because of me and probably have surpassed my skills. So ya, I'll go.

Okay, I feel a smidgen better getting this out.

BCD

And I really don't care right now. I'm in such a foul mood. Why should I care when no else does. Why should I wait when obviously I'm not give the same consideration. I'm so tired of it all. I'm feeling invisible again and it makes me feel small and lost and the biggest trusting fool.

Mute Monday: Diversity

I know I'm being predictable but it's my Mute Monday Theme and I'm sticking to it.

Not Safe For Work! You've been warned.

Raven got her first Tatt in a shop called Diversity.
