Playing with Daggers

My first time playing with long dagger beads. I wasn't sure I was going to like while working on it, but now that it's finished. I like it!

Lucky Koi

Another finished project! Because when I learn a new beading stitch (this time the Herringbone) I must make a new creation with it. Although I admit, this is only my second time doing an embroidered piece which I have made sure the backing is sturdy enough to endure being a bracelet. It has a triple backing of ultra suede and stiff stuff.
I have held onto the fish bead for almost a year now. I had no idea what to make with it when I first found it at the flea market - but I am more than pleased with the finished product. If you are interested in purchasing this, please check out my Etsy shop on the side bar to your right. :D

Latest beaded pendant creation

I just made it and already it's gone to a good home. Six pointed star. Delicas, 15s seed beads and 14mm Rivoli crystal, hand stitched together with the peyote stitch.

New screen - mega sized

Since we've replaced our desktop with the BIGASSEDCOMPUTER I've had to adjust to the BIGASSEDMONITOR that came with it. Twenty-five inches people! Twenty-five oh-so-bright inches of LCD monitor.

Now most folks would be thrilled right? No Raven even found something to nag about with the new BIGASSEDMONITOR in the fact it's too bright and has thrown off the brightness/contract for my PhotoShop.

So this is my first attempt at a PS creation.

I'm still gunshy about posting new graphics because I'm afraid they'll be too dark when I view them on other monitors. But I'll get over it. I hope.

I am blessed to have friends who can write like this.

A snippet from one of Tiger's latest fics:

Some things were hard to look at even after twenty years of seeing pictures that made no easy sense. Max had seen men in battle with their faces ripped back to raw skull, others with their guts held like infants in their arms; the mess never got any easier to assimilate. But when the mess was a man he last saw gracing the terrace of the Athenaeum, indecently immaculate, the picture broke up and became just so much static; he heard rather than saw it, a high-pitched scrabble of sound in his head.

This was Gideon Ware. What was left of him.

He was chained to the exposed pipework that ran down the interior wall of the warehouse. He’d been sitting, possibly even standing at some point during the incarceration, but not for long and not recently. His body was folded at the waist, his head on his knees, the back of his neck exposed and bloody. The shoulders of his shirt were torn, grey and stiff with sweat. Blood had baked dry at his feet in a shiny patch of colour more black than red. The feet were bare, bleached with dust.

From the look of things, it had taken him a long time to die.

I know this is a bit off beat from her usual writings these days, but seriously I am smitten with my friend's talents.

"...indecently immaculate, the picture broke up and became just so much static; he heard rather than saw it, a high-pitched scrabble of sound in his head."

Sweet desert night this leaves such a lasting image that has me completely in awe of Tiger's writing.
