Of course they've already changed the story from the books, Sonja was blond and more of the fairy book tale Princess - it was after all why Lucian was attracted to her. It was her mom and Viktor's wife, Illona who was the warrior type.
But Rhona Mitra in my opinion will be a kick ass Sonja regardless of the story change. And of course her screentime dad and My all time favorite Elder, Viktor!
It really ticks me off that folks are whining and bitching Kate Beckensale won't be in the movie and all I can say is THANK GOD!!! I can't stand her, couldn't stand her character and YES PEOPLE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL that is Underworld, the story line goes Viktor choose Selene becase she reminded him of Sonja! It's not the the other way around! Sonja is NOT the knock off of Selene! Get your fricken facts straight!
And I say again THANK GOD Kate Beckensale won't be in the movie because quite honestly she killed just about every main character there was in the original story line. So YES! THANK YOU the power that be Miss thinks she's the reason UW did so well and can't act with (one) her mouth shut or (two) a gun in her hand WON'T BE IN THE THIRD INSTALLMENT!!!!

and on topic that is not Selene related, Steven MacIntosh will be back to play Tanis! Yaaaayyyyy! And Shane Brolly will be back to play Kraven! Michael Sheen as Lucian FUCK'N YEAYYYYY!!!! ANDDDDD! Kevin Grevioux will be back toooooo! Damn Wiseman should have left the man to produce Underworld II, maybe the fandom would still have all of the characters still around and I do mean all of the characters and not just Wiseman's wife aka Kate Beckensale who as Selene is now free to run around in daylight to pop out half breed baby with her bitch of a hybrid boyfriend, Michael.
So PLEEEEASEEEEEE Patrick Tapopoulous don't screw it up like Wiseman did!
