Love you interpretation of the theme!

"Out of the Indian approach to life there came a great freedom, an intense and absorbing respect for life, enriching faith in a Supreme Power, and principles of truth, honesty, generosity, equity, and brotherhood as a guide to mundane relations." Luther Standing Bear (Oglala Sioux)

Glad you enjoyed it, it was the first thing that came to mind. Happy MM to you as well!

Wow--that is one awesome eagle.
I hear ya' on them Indians. Patriotism comes from LAtin "Patria" --country, native land.

Happy MM!

Reminds me of our Aborigines. I wish the white fellas would remember that they inhabited our land first too.

Beautiful pics Raven but then they always are. happy Mute Monday.

Aunty:
Isn't he just absolutely beautiful?! Is little wonder the Natives honor him. Happy MM to you too!

Gypsy:
Heh, funny how most folks assoicate Patriotism with those who weren't first to inhabit the land.
I loved your Aboriginal (sp?) pictures! LOVED loved them! Happy MM to you!

Having my cake:
It's a lovely drawing isn't it. To me it shows how we must all conform to "fit in". Happy MM to you as well!

The Bald Egal is amazing! Every year at the Gathering of Nations they ensure there is one there to bless the opening and closing of the GONs which means we get to see him up close and personal and its always just... GUH! Happy MM to you too!

Troll:
This MM theme has been really intense, I was getting a bit depressed looking at all the variations on the theme so I tried to be a smidgen different.

Kate:
Thanks dear! It was hard to keep to just these pics for as usual I could have gone over board. Happy MM to you!

Vixen:
Thank you and a Happy Mute Monday as well. :D

I love looking at the older photos of indians. They looked so proud the way they posed. Some times with a sad look.
Our government did a terrible thing when they resorted to genocide

Bunny:
I absolutely love old photographs of Native Americans, I love going to Gallup even more but never feel like I fit in. Happy MM to you too!

K9:
Thank you! They are extremely noble looking even if like me, they don't smile very often. Happy MM!

NYD:
No worries, I understood what you meant. Thank you! It seems to me the Native Americans are almost always over looked in history and in modern times. Happy MM to you!

Richard:
They do look proud when probably in reality they were unsure, not going to say insecure but curious. Its rare to find old photographs of the Navitives where they are smiling.

Simply being exposed to small pox just about wiped out the population. Not to mention what the Cathlotic chruch did to make them conform. Very sad indeed.

Nice to meet you Richard!
