Sadest thing I've read in awhile

Now I'm not talking about some novel or book for of late it seems I can't finish what I start when I pick up a book. In fact I have three books here at my office that I hardly read. Ever since I finished the Dresden Files and now must wait for the next book to be printed, I just haven't found anything I want to read aside from fan fiction and thank goodness another friend has resumed writting fan fiction!

I will admit the last few books I bought were based upon the cover art and nothing else. They were very attractive books and the first one I started reading turned out to be a romance novel. Ugh! Whyyyyy did I waste my money? Can't stand romance novels, they're just so Mary Sue it makes me want to drip lemon juice in my eyes.

But I'm digressing here.

The saddest thing I read lately was an e-mail from my Greek friend who says she is too busy with university to draw.

To me this is like kicking a puppy or ignoring the cries of a kitten! This is serious news to me because my friend has such talent when it comes to drawing. It's just a whole other plane of thinking, those gifted with the knack for drawing. Once I could never achive regardless of the amount of practice. It's just not happening.

So yes, this news was just too sad.

I even have some original drawings she's sent me and I cherish them like I would Christian Bale. I hold them even more dear because I have something very few have, something created by my friend because I am in awe of her drawing abilities. And when you see scanned images of her work they simply cannot do any justice to the actual image.

On a slightly related topic a friend from LiveJournal managed to track down more pictures in a series of photos of two men I Really like! She even managed to find out their names, Matt and Dean although who is Matt and who is Dean, we've got a 50/50 guess here.

Anyhoo, here is one of the pictures from that series.



These two together just do Raven in annnnd again I am digressing somewhat so back on topic. While I was oogling away at this newly found picture there was a nagging idea in my head there was something more about this picture I just couldn't figure out until I'd made an icon from this picture and it hit me!

My Greek friend sometime last year had drawn this, of the two characters she and I used RP with.



Whether I'm reaching for a semblance or not, it clicked for me. I just hope my friend won't ever give up drawing. Take a hiatus from it okay, but never give up on it.
