Don't fail me now!

I Used to watch Smallville religiously when it first aired, then when Lana became such a OMG!whinner/holierthantho missgoodietooshoes! It pretty much killed the show for me.

Just shoot me now.

Then they introduced Lois

and I thought *FINALLY* a female character whom I thought I could I like. Then they turned her into such a slut and stereotypical TV act before thinking female who pouts and flirts her way out/in of trouble.

I can't stand her. She can join Lana in the Whiner’s house.

Then the next big whiner they introduced to the show, Clark's ditzy, doe caught in headlights blond Super Girl.

Oy, I don't know her character's name and really could care less and thankfully she's lost her memory and not being shown any more. I'll say it again - THANK GOODNESS!

So far the ONLY female character I still enjoy is Chloe.

She's smart, quirky, can do anything with a computer not to mention she PWNS Clark because come on, anyone who knows Clark Kent's big "Secret" has Superman by his stainless steel cojones. I adore her.

BUT NOW! Say Hello to the Black Canary!

BABY! The fishnets, the super rad makeup job! The whole Canary screeching thing that makes Clark's ears bleed and knocks him on his ass?! and of course the best part - wait for it - BITCH KICKING - not slapping - but Kicking Lois Lane! *le sigh* She's my hero.

Yessssss! I love her already. Besides she looks so much better hanging out with Mr. Green Jeans himself - Oliver Queen, aka, The Green Arrow.

Waitaminute here... stick the Green Arrow in some fishnets...

So Please - PLEASE!!! Smallville producers, don't turn the Dark Canary into another ditzy female because she is far too sassy to be wasted. And besides when one doesn't like Supernatural, LOST, Prison Break, American Idol and most of the prime time TV shows it's nice to be able to hang on to one show.

Five on Friday

I was tagged on LJ to do this awhile back and it seems all I have to say of late are negative things. So I'm going to try and make this a habit.

Five Things That Made Me Happy this last week:

1. The uphoric feeling to know my doctor believes in my pain.

2. The glimmer light of hope said doctor gave me because she does believe.

3. Elz agreeing to go out on Valentines day which will be the first time EVER these 18 years we've been married.

4. Elz actually taking me serious when I said what I want for my birthday is to go to Las Vegas just the two of us.

5. The smell of hair after my morning walk these cold, cold days.

Picture I took on one my morning walks. ^_^

So if you're reading this, I want you to list five things as well.

Too pretty not to share

As sent to me by a Friend.

Comebacks:

When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush.

He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.

It became very quiet in the room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then there was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break one of the French engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?'
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: 'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?'
Once again, dead silence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, 'whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.' He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied 'Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'

You could have heard a pin drop

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE

A group of Americans, retired teachers, recently went to France on a tour. Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.

At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. "You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically.

Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.< B>

"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."

The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !"

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained. "Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in '44 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find any */+*% Frenchmen to show it to."

Lazy - lazy - lazy Friday

Or should that be re titled to Lazyass Raven.

It's been a killer week so Thank Ghod It's Friday! *tosses confetti!*

Seriously I haven't been this busy in a very long time and I don't think it's because one our staff is out on medical leave because I mean my work and her work really don't crossover that much. Just a busy, productive Raven I suppose. Well that and one of the evil minions I work for has been getting ready to go on vacation for the MONTH of February!

*pffftttt* I take a day or two vacation, noooooo my boss takes a MONTH vacation, in Florida! Must be nice.

So ya been working my assssssssssss off to get his stuff done and yesterday was the pinnacle (HA Troll! I'm early!) of this work week. Ugh.

*PLUS*

Yesterday was my Merman's birthday! *tosses more confetti!* its official, Clan Pena has a Teenager! Should we be proud or worried because dude, the attitude - oy - it's started already. Actually I think the "Teens" started about six months ago and yesterday was just more of the official announcement. AND! the boy brought home all A's and B's on his report card! *YAYYYYY!* and then he smugly announced just how much we owe him because yes I admit it, we bribe him to do well. $5.00 for every "A"; $3.00 for every "B"; $1.00 for "C"s; nothing for "D"s and he owes us $5.00 for any "F"s.

So I'm sure he's going to be waiting for us to get home to pay him his $27.00 PLUS his allowance and whatever other monies he receives for his birthday. We bought him a 30g Zune which he was very excited about and he deserves because he does work hard and we've piled a lot more responsibilities upon both boys since Judy died and there is absolutely no way he could save enough to buy his own so we bought it for him. The sucketh part, it may be a flawed device and it's looking more and more like we'll have to return it and get a replacement one. *sighs* Let's just hope we can replace it.

So in other Raven news, I've been a touch depressed this month, yes all of half day of February because this time last year I just couldn't stop gushing about the fact I was going to visit Ma Hubby! Besides we were going to Vencie for Carnivale which we did and it was one of the best parts of my life and now it's been a year. I want to go back! I want to go back NOW! I want to see my Hubby again! I want to go walking with her and take three hours to drink one stink'n coffee! and have her make fun of me that I drink my coffee in five minutes flat and save snails at ten in the evening or watch a line of silly little bugs try and cross the road without getting run over or get lost again in the walkways of Venice and bore her to death because I keep staring at the sea! I want to go back and see the Parthenon again! I want to go back. I want to see My Hubby again and go see the Sex Museum. :D

Humpf, now I've depressed myself again. So I'll do a pic spam of my trip from a year ago.

Have a great day all! ^_^
